W.A.I.™: Weather Adaptive Insulation™
W.A.I.™ (Weather Adaptive Insulation™) is a temperature-responsive 3D aerogel insulation structure designed to change the amount of trapped air as conditions change. Its tubular construction expands in colder conditions and eases off as temperatures rise, creating a physically adaptive insulation layer
What it does.
A 3D tubular structure changes the trapped-air layer as temperature conditions change
Expanded tubes create a thicker insulating air layer without relying on powered components
Designed to be integrated into different garment constructions and insulation systems
The mechanism.
As temperature drops, the tubular structure expands and traps a thicker layer of air. As conditions get warmer, the tubes compress and reduce the insulating air layer. The insulation response comes from the physical structure itself
